CME’s XRP Futures Achieve Nearly $30 Million in First Days of Trading

XRP futures contracts launched on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) achieved over $19 million in notional trading volume on their first day and at least $10 million on the following Tuesday.

  • The inaugural trade was cleared by Hidden Road on May 18.
  • CME offers standard contracts for 50,000 XRP and micro contracts for 2,500 XRP, both cash-settled.
  • Standard contracts traded 7.5 million XRP on Monday and 2.95 million XRP on Tuesday.
  • Micro contracts recorded 517,000 XRP on Monday and at least 1.2 million XRP on Tuesday.
  • The launch is seen as a move toward potential approval of a spot XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the U.S.

XRP's spot price remained stable at approximately $2.38, with a 0.42% increase over the past 24 hours.
