Changpeng Zhao, also known as Binance CZ, is the founder and CEO of the Binance exchange. He has been involved in cryptocurrency since 2013, after his friends Ron Cao and Bobby Lee introduced him to Bitcoin.

Zhao was born in Jiangsu Province, China, where his parents were teachers. His family emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, in the late 1980s. His father was a professor in China until he was labeled a "bourgeois intellectual" and expelled from his country. As a teenager, Zhao helped his family by working in service jobs, including at McDonald's.
Zhao studied at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he majored in computer science.
Career before founding Binance
After graduating, Zhao moved to Tokyo to develop trading order matching software for the Tokyo Stock Exchange. From 2001 to 2005, he worked in New York at Bloomberg Tradebook as a futures trading developer, after which he moved to Shanghai and co-founded Fusion Systems, a company that creates high-frequency trading systems for brokers.
In 2013, Zhao moved to London, where he worked at Blockchain.info as a technology director. He left Blockchain to join OKCoin in June 2014 for eight months, after which he founded BijieTech, a company that provides cloud exchange systems for operators in Shanghai.
The founding of Binance
In July 2017, Zhao left BijieTech and founded Binance. The exchange launched by conducting an ICO raising $15 million during its initial coin offering for their Binance Coin, about which we wrote earlier. In less than eight months, Zhao turned Binance into the world's largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume as of April 2018. In February 2018, Forbes magazine ranked him third on its list of the "richest people in cryptocurrency."
As of October 2018, Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. As of September 2018, Zhao's net worth was estimated at $1.4 billion.
It took not 3 years to develop Binance, but 20 years.
CZ Binance
As a CEO, he is highly regarded by many, including Michael Arrington, founder of TechCrunch, who wrote an article on why CZ ended up "where he needed to be with what he needed." A nice comment from someone who stands alongside some of the most successful business titans in the world. In fact, in his statements, CZ is described as "the best of the best." The most notable compliments about CZ included three main traits: "thoughtful," "strategist," and "deeply human."
What does his work credo say?
His days are currently predictably unpredictable; every day he faces new challenges, thus clearly distinguishing the impossible from the possible.
Here are some aspects of his job: social media - about 15–30 minutes a day, communication with Binance angels, traveling while listening to audiobooks, and the rest of the time as it goes. Currently, he is looking for a smart and "polite" bot to automate requests to him. He is even willing to fund this.
