Allmight Founder Launches Media Company to Promote US Crypto Leadership

Allmight founder Kevin Ricoy aims to create a media company that influences culture through entertainment, believing that culture affects policy and social change. He stated that MTV News had a greater cultural impact than CNN.

Allmight is a media startup focused on enhancing the United States' leadership in crypto, gaining momentum from the recent US presidential election and a more favorable regulatory environment for crypto businesses.

The company's first product, “This Week in Crypto,” is a late-night talk show summarizing crypto news with a humorous approach. Initial videos have received hundreds of thousands of views on X. Ricoy envisions expanding Allmight’s content to represent “next-gen Americana” with a focus on engaging and entertaining material. He expressed interest in becoming a crypto version of Jon Stewart.

In addition to monetizing through ads and sponsorships, Allmight plans to host events, assist with job placements for US candidates, and raise awareness about policymakers' legislative efforts on crypto. Future considerations may include crowdfunded investments.

Following a Trump win and a perceived shift towards a more crypto-friendly regulatory environment, Ricoy noted a “500% increase in interest and optimism” surrounding his project. With rising crypto prices and diminishing fears of regulatory backlash, the American crypto landscape appears to be thriving.

Previously, Ricoy operated a construction labor company before launching a crypto app promoting SoundCloud music with Kin, a cryptocurrency introduced by Kik. After a legal battle with the SEC, which led to Kik's shutdown, Ricoy worked for Kin’s foundation and later joined the Solana Foundation as community relations manager, where he initiated Solana’s community grants program before resigning to focus on Allmight.

Although Allmight received funding from the Solana Foundation, Ricoy emphasized his goal to support crypto beyond just Solana, receiving encouragement from the foundation. When asked about unifying the diverse crypto ecosystems in the US, Ricoy suggested collaborative efforts like those between the Solana Foundation and Polygon Labs could help reduce tribalism in the community.
