Binance Launches Community Voting System for Token Delistings
Binance is implementing a community-driven delisting mechanism allowing users to vote on tokens to be removed from its platform, addressing criticism over recent meme coin listings.
- The system aims to enhance transparency and democracy in token delistings.
- Participation requires holding at least 0.01 BNB and having a verified account.
- Users can cast one vote per project, with a maximum of five votes.
- Voting results will be displayed in real-time, but not solely determine delistings; Binance will conduct an internal review based on various factors.
Additionally, Binance announced the delisting of five cryptocurrencies:
Aergo,
AirSwap,
BurgerCities,
COMBO, and
Linear Finance.
This decision follows a routine evaluation where these tokens did not meet regulatory standards. The delisting will be effective March 28, 2025.
Users are advised to manage their positions before the deadline, as these tokens will not be eligible for the Vote to Delist initiative.
