GSR Co-CEO and CTO Depart as New Executives Appointed at BlockFills

GSR, a crypto market maker, announced the departure of co-CEO Rich Rosenblum and CTO John MacDonald. Rosenblum, a co-founder, is leaving to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities, while MacDonald has been with GSR since January 2022.

GSR's statement highlighted Rosenblum’s contributions in shaping the company’s strategic direction in the cryptocurrency market. The firm did not disclose future roles for either executive or potential replacements.

This change follows the appointment of Rosenblum and Xin Song as co-CEOs on July 1, with former CEO Jakob Palmstierna transitioning to president.

In related news, BlockFills appointed Amy Shelly as CFO and promoted Neil Van Huis to chief strategy officer. Shelly previously served as CFO at the Options Clearing Corporation from 2016 to 2022. BlockFills aims to enhance liquidity solutions and expand operations in the institutional digital assets sector.

CoinShares, a crypto asset manager, is hiring for various roles to bolster its US operations after acquiring Valkyrie’s crypto ETFs. Meanwhile, Nova Labs, responsible for the Helium Mobile network, reduced its workforce by 36% to refocus on its core business.
