BTCS Files to Sell Up to $2 Billion in Shares for Digital Assets
BTCS Inc. has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to sell up to $2 billion in shares for digital asset purchases and business operations.
The company also filed to allow resale of over 5 million shares linked to previous convertible notes and warrants, expecting to net around $12 million from this exercise.
BTCS integrates traditional finance with decentralized finance, emphasizing staking and ETH accumulation. Its latest acquisition of 14,240 ETH raises its total to over 70,000 ETH, valued at approximately $265 million. Despite this fundraising strategy, BTCS shares fell slightly, closing at $5.05 on Tuesday.
BTCS joins other firms accumulating Ethereum, believing that ETH treasuries may outperform those based on Bitcoin due to staking yields and DeFi opportunities.
