The Cardano Foundation is planning to apply for the .ada and .cardano generic Top-Level Domains (gTLDs) to enhance its digital presence in the cryptocurrency sector. This initiative will be fully funded by the Cardano Foundation and aims to strengthen trust, accessibility, and innovation within the Cardano ecosystem.

The Foundation is currently gauging community support through a voting link.
Payment and application submission for the gTLDs are contingent on community approval.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) will open a new application window in Q1 2026, marking the first opportunity since 2012.

This strategic move could allow the registration of domain names like vespr.ada or nmkr.cardano, linking Web2 and Web3 technologies.
