Digital Asset Raises $135 Million for Canton Network Development

Digital Asset Funding Round

Digital Asset raised $135 million for its privacy-focused blockchain, Canton Network. The funding was led by DRW Venture Capital and Tradeweb Markets, with participation from notable institutions including:

  • BNP Paribas
  • Circle Ventures
  • Citadel Securities
  • Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC)
  • Virtu Financial
  • Paxos

Canton Network prioritizes configurable privacy, attracting firms like Goldman Sachs and BNY Mellon to test real-world assets (RWAs). CEO Yuval Rooz emphasized that assets on Canton can be issued with varying levels of privacy, allowing coexistence of different asset types.

The funds will enhance RWA offerings on the platform, which include bonds, money market funds, alternative funds, commodities, repos, mortgages, life insurance, and annuities.

Don Wilson, CEO of DRW, stated that this funding positions Canton as a leading protocol for global collateral mobility in financial markets.
