NATIX Launches VX360 to Transform Tesla Cameras into Data Generators
Modern cars function as advanced computers on wheels, utilizing cameras for a comprehensive 360° view of their environment. These systems are crucial for navigation, safety, and autonomous driving, though their capabilities are often underutilized.
NATIX Network has introduced a device called VX360, which converts Tesla’s existing camera system into a 360° dashcam that compensates users for the data collected.
The VX360 enhances safety in autonomous vehicles and opens opportunities for real-time mapping, property appraisal, and insurance assessments. It captures unpredictable driving scenarios, known as “edge cases,” to assist in training autonomous vehicle AI.
Utilizing the DePIN model, NATIX encourages Tesla drivers to share footage while implementing strict privacy and data control measures. The device processes and anonymizes video at the source using edge computing technology.
According to CEO Alireza Ghods, the anonymization AI effectively blurs identifiable information but maintains the integrity of the footage, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations. The processed footage is uploaded via Tesla's built-in connectivity or a paired mobile device.
The company has refined its anonymization AI since 2020, benefiting from advancements in open-source AI. Tesla drivers are rewarded for sharing footage through NATIX tokens or incentives like gift cards and electronics discounts.
Trip recordings remain accessible to car owners for navigation or insurance claims. Ghods anticipates that the hardware will pay for itself within nine months, making this a practical shift from a smartphone app-based model. He noted that even with fluctuating rewards, users can manage their footage anytime, anywhere.
NATIX employs a token buyback-and-burn strategy, allocating 40% of revenue from data monetization. Since the token's launch in July 2024, over 41.6 million tokens out of a total supply of 1 billion have been burned.
Initially targeting select cities, NATIX plans to broaden its coverage and compatibility with additional car brands. Ghods remarked on the industry trend toward manufacturers creating platforms rather than isolated products, likening it to an "iPhone moment" for cars led by Tesla and Google.
