Nvidia Set to Release Q3 Earnings Amid Blackwell GPU Issues
It’s a high-stakes day for tech stocks as Nvidia’s third quarter report is set to be released today after the bell.
Nvidia, the world’s largest public company by market cap, has been a leading beneficiary of the AI boom. Shares have increased nearly 200% year-to-date and 1,000% since September 2022.
Analysts predict strong results from Nvidia tonight, with earnings per share estimates raised to $2.84 from $2.81 in September. The second quarter earnings per share were $2.70, representing a 148% year-over-year increase.
Revenue estimates for the third quarter are $33 billion, an 83% increase from the prior year. The second quarter revenue was $30 billion.
Investors will look for indications that Nvidia’s Blackwell GPU, a high-performance chip anticipated to drive the next AI wave, is in demand and operating effectively. Concerns about Blackwell GPUs overheating have emerged. Nvidia has invested over $2 billion in its development, so stakeholders expect progress on these issues.
