Pet Owner Launches JUSTICE Crypto Token on Solana Blockchain
Following the death of Peanut the Squirrel (P’Nut) and Fred the Raccoon, their owner Mark Longo is launching a crypto token called Justice for Pnut and Fred (JUSTICE). He announced this in a recent video on X, stating that the token aims to demonstrate that government overreach is unacceptable.
The Story behind the JUSTICE Token
Longo will launch JUSTICE on the Solana blockchain. The initiative stems from a November incident where New York State environmental officers raided his animal sanctuary, citing laws against keeping wildlife as pets, which led to the euthanasia of P’Nut and Fred. P’Nut had previously gained significant social media fame with over half a million followers.
Longo expressed his determination to seek justice through legal action against the government, saying, “The government’s not gonna get away with this. Justice will be served for not only Fred and Peanut but for anyone affected by overstepped boundaries.”
Accusations Fly amid Rapid Token Success
Longo accused various parties within the crypto community of exploiting his situation. He claims individuals have launched token projects inspired by his pets without his permission. Additionally, members of the PNUT crypto community alleged that they previously donated $50,000 to Longo, who may have sold the funds.
Longo asserts that JUSTICE is the only token he plans to launch, distancing himself from other projects leveraging the memories of P’Nut and Fred. Currently, JUSTICE has a market cap of $53.8 million and over 14,000 holders, according to data from Solscan.
