Pump.fun Achieves Record Daily Revenue of $15 Million Amid Memecoin Surge
Solana-based launchpad Pump.fun achieved a record $15 million in daily revenue on January 1, 2025, amidst the growing interest in memecoins, which remain the leading narrative in the current investment cycle.
Pump.Fun Records High Daily Revenue
Memecoins dominated the crypto landscape in 2024, with Solana tokens gaining significant attention. Pump.fun emerged as a top token launcher, simplifying memecoin creation and deployment. In Q3 2024, it surpassed Ethereum and other Solana protocols, doubling their fees and revenue.
The platform's success has led to the emergence of competitors like Tron-based SunPump and multi-chain GraFun. Despite a ban in the UK in December, Pump.fun maintained a steady daily revenue of $2 million to $3 million throughout that month.
Since its launch, Pump.fun has deployed 5.39 million tokens and generated over 2.02 million SOL, valued at $418.7 million. It began 2025 with record-breaking performance, surpassing previous milestones.
According to Dune Analytics, Pump.fun recorded 72,506 SOL (approximately $15 million) in daily revenue, representing a near 30% increase from late November. The launchpad also accounted for 52.8% of all SOL decentralized exchange transactions in December.
Memecoin Growth Amid Criticism
Despite its success, Pump.fun faced criticism due to harmful content broadcasted via its Livestream feature at the end of 2024. Users created controversial memecoins to generate viral trends, notably after a livestream incident involving a 12-year-old user.
During this period, Pump.fun registered its highest revenue day, with 55,832 SOL (around $11 million) in a single day, prompting community backlash and a temporary shutdown of the Livestream feature.
On-chain analysis revealed that Pump.fun deposited over 355,608 SOL to Kraken, totaling 1,564,064 SOL sent to the exchange and 264,373 SOL sold for 41.64 million USDC. These actions sparked comparisons between Pump.fun and the Ethereum Foundation within the community.
The memecoin trend continues to thrive, with the “Solana Meme” category on CoinGecko showing a 12.5% market cap increase to $20.9 billion in 24 hours. New entrants such as ai16z (AI16Z) and Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) saw daily surges of 8.9% and 43.7%, reaching new all-time highs on January 2nd, further energizing the sector.
