Ripple Commits $25 Million to U.S. Education Initiatives Using RLUSD

Ripple has committed $25 million to educational initiatives in the U.S., primarily using its RLUSD stablecoin. The funding will be allocated as follows:

  • $15 million for teachers via DonorsChoose
  • $10 million for Teach For America

The distribution of funds will occur through 2025 and is done in partnership with The Giving Block, amid federal funding cuts affecting education institutions.

The Giving Block now supports donations in RLUSD, enhancing the token's visibility and use case. Panos Mekras, CEO of Anodos Labs, noted that stablecoins like RLUSD facilitate fast, low-cost transfers without intermediaries.

As of Tuesday, RLUSD has a circulating supply of $316 million. Security features make it attractive to institutional users.

A recent amendment to the XRP Ledger introduced a “clawback” feature, allowing issuers to reclaim certain tokens, including RLUSD, under specific conditions.
