Robinhood Reports Q1 Earnings of $0.37, Increases Buyback by $500 Million

Robinhood (HOOD) reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.37 for Q1 2025, surpassing the estimated $0.33. Key financial figures include:

  • Total revenue: $927 million, down from $1 billion in Q4 but above expectations of $920.1 million
  • Crypto-related revenue: $252 million, a 100% increase year-over-year
  • Transaction-based revenue: $583 million, a 13% decline from $672 million in Q4

The company has expanded its share repurchase program by adding $500 million to the existing $1 billion, having repurchased $667 million so far.

Monthly crypto trading volumes for Robinhood correlate with those of Coinbase (COIN), which is expected to report earnings on May 8. Analysts predict a revenue drop to $2.1 billion from $2.27 billion and a decrease in exchange volume to $403.8 billion from $439 billion.

HOOD shares fell 2.2% in after-hours trading.
