SEC’s Crypto Task Force Plans Four Additional Roundtable Discussions This Spring

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will conduct four additional roundtable discussions this spring, focusing on:

  • Tokenization
  • Decentralized finance (DeFi)
  • Crypto custody
  • Crypto trading regulation

The first roundtable took place in Washington, D.C., where industry lawyers discussed the security status of tokens as part of the SEC's “Spring Sprint Toward Crypto Clarity.”

Commissioner Hester Peirce emphasized that these discussions aim to identify regulatory issues and solutions. The SEC is shifting from "regulation by enforcement" to a more collaborative approach with the crypto industry.

The next roundtable, focusing on crypto trading, is scheduled for April 11, followed by sessions on crypto custody (April 25), tokenization (May 12), and DeFi (June 6). All discussions will be livestreamed.
