Sonic Partners with Injective to Launch Cross-chain AI Agent Platform
Sonic has partnered with the WASM-based L1 network Injective to create the first cross-chain Artificial Intelligence (AI) Agent platform. As a leading gaming Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), Sonic aims to connect the Solana and Injective ecosystems through an innovative Smart Agent Hub.
Details of the Sonic and Injective AI Agent Collaboration
This collaboration will utilize Sonic's HyperGrid technology to establish a dedicated SVM grid, allowing for intuitive cross-chain connectivity between Solana and Injective. The Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol (IBC) will enable seamless integration of AI Agents built on the SVM into the Injective ecosystem.
The partnership focuses on technical innovations, including the Injective SVM Grid, leveraging Sonic’s HyperGrid infrastructure. Together, they plan to run a Solana-based rollup to facilitate direct communication between the Injective WASM blockchain and Solana via IBC. This includes cross-chain asset interoperability, functioning as an optimized bidirectional bridge for transferring assets such as SOL and Injective tokens in both wrapped (CW20) and native formats.
A unified developer experience is also a priority, allowing developers on Injective to deploy Solana-based applications using a single RPC endpoint. They will have access to an SVM Explorer for tracking transactions and comprehensive deployment documentation. Chris Zhu, CEO of Sonic, stated that this collaboration represents a significant milestone in cross-chain infrastructure, creating opportunities for developers to build applications that operate seamlessly across ecosystems.
The Smart Agent Hub offers a framework and tools for developers to create, manage, and monetize AI agents in a decentralized environment, featuring agent tokenization and co-ownership, which open new economic opportunities through fractional ownership and revenue sharing.
Sonic SVM Airdrop Announcement
Sonic SVM recently announced plans for a strategic token airdrop targeting Solayer users engaged with its Actively Validated Service. This initiative involves distributing tokens to Solayer delegators and participants from Adrastea, a restaking protocol connecting Solana to Sonic’s AVS, recognizing their early adoption and support.
Chris Zhu emphasized that the airdrop confirms Sonic’s commitment to rewarding those who contributed to the growth of Sonic’s AVS. Eligible users include those who have delegated either Solana or qualifying Liquid Staking Tokens to Sonic AVS via Solayer. A snapshot of eligible delegations will occur before the Token Generation Event scheduled for Q1 2025, with expectations of record-setting distribution volumes due to Sonic's dominant position in the ecosystem.
The Sonic ecosystem continues to gain significance in community engagement within Solana’s restaking landscape.
