Star Atlas Continues Development Amidst Declining Token Prices

Star Atlas, a sci-fi MMORPG, is preparing for its full launch after releasing its white paper in 2021. Currently, players can access the web-based game SAGE (Star Atlas Golden Era) until the main game is available.

Key updates include:

  • The release of a patch introducing Galia mode for single-player exploration on barren planets.
  • Enhanced graphics and smooth space navigation, although some glitches were reported.
  • Introduction of Fleet Command for managing ships and future plans for mining without initial crypto rewards.
  • Upcoming features include team deathmatch, extraction shooter modes, and in-game NFTs.

CEO Michael Wagner noted that the project is recovering post-FTX and emphasized the importance of a financial model alongside gameplay. The ATLAS token is down over 99% from its all-time high, with similar trends for the POLIS token. Wagner criticized the notion that creating a fun game should take precedence over economic considerations in blockchain gaming.

Future developments aim to expand the game world, introduce new game modes, ship customization, and more. The team is prioritizing a desktop PC release, with potential for console versions later.

Star Atlas is currently accessible via its public Discord server.
