Taurus and Aztec Foundation Launch Open-Source Private Token Standard

Taurus has partnered with Aztec Foundation to develop an open-source confidential token standard for debt and equity. This initiative aims to enable institutions to tokenize financial assets on public blockchains while maintaining user privacy.

  • The new token standard addresses privacy and regulatory compliance issues for financial institutions.
  • It utilizes Aztec Network’s layer-2 protocol and zero-knowledge proofs to ensure transaction privacy.
  • The code is written in Noir programming language, facilitating a confidential version of the CMTAT security token.

JP Aumasson from Taurus highlighted that this development connects institutional needs with decentralized systems. Arnaud Schenk from Aztec noted the importance of privacy for banks and investment firms to adopt blockchain technology.

Integrations with Solana and Hedera

Taurus announced its custody service, Taurus-PROTECT, and its digital asset issuance platform, Taurus-CAPITAL, are now compatible with Solana, allowing secure storage and staking of tokenized assets.

  • This integration enables the creation of customizable digital assets on Solana.
  • Taurus also partnered with The Hashgraph Association to incorporate Hedera's DLT into its platform.
  • HBAR and the Hedera Token Service (HTS) will be available through Taurus' services.
