Thailand to Block OKX, Bybit, and Other Exchanges Starting June 28

Starting June 28, Thai crypto traders will be blocked from accessing the following exchanges:

This decision follows a filing by Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) against these exchanges for violating the Digital Asset Business Act. The SEC has requested the Ministry of Digital Affairs to implement access restrictions.

Investors are advised to secure their assets on these platforms before the restrictions take effect. The SEC highlighted the importance of using licensed platforms to protect investors and prevent involvement in illegal activities, including money laundering.

An OKX spokesperson stated their commitment to working with regulators to combat illicit activities and emphasized the need for constructive engagement for the industry's sustainable growth.

Thai authorities previously announced plans to block access to unlicensed exchanges in April 2024.
