Trump Administration Clarifies Tariff Exemption Status on Electronics

The US Customs and Border Protection issued guidance exempting specific consumer electronics from reciprocal tariffs on China and a 10% global import tariff. This includes smartphones, computers, and semiconductor assembly machines.

However, White House senior adviser Stephen Miller stated that these products imported from China are still subject to a 20% levy. Former President Trump contradicted the exemption claim, stating no changes to tariffs had been announced and indicated that semiconductor tariffs would be categorized differently. He promised further clarification on Monday.

As of now, there are no detailed specifics regarding tariffs on electronics. Updates are expected throughout the week.
