UK Government Unveils Consultation Papers on Crypto Legislation

The U.K. government has released consultation papers on draft legislation for the crypto sector.

New regulated activities will include operating a cryptoasset trading exchange and stablecoin issuance.
Market abuse, admissions, and disclosures regimes are also part of the proposal.
The consultation was initiated during the Conservative government's tenure in 2023.
Current Economic Secretary Tulip Siddiq stated that the new government aims to fulfill previous crypto plans.
