Winklevoss Twins Donate $1.2 Million to Enhance Zcash Security

The Winklevoss twins have donated 3,221 ZEC, approximately $1.16 million, to Shielded Labs, an independent Zcash development organization.

The funds will support core protocol work in the Zcash ecosystem.
Initiatives include the Network Sustainability Mechanism, Crosslink, and Dynamic Fees.
These initiatives aim to enhance Zcash's security, scalability, and economic resilience.

Shielded Labs operates independently from Zcash’s block rewards and development fund, focusing on protocol-level research and engineering.

Tyler Winklevoss emphasized the importance of multiple independent organizations contributing to the Zcash ecosystem. Cameron Winklevoss highlighted their long-standing support for Zcash due to its strong privacy features.

Changes at Electric Coin Company (ECC)

There was a significant departure of developers from ECC following disputes with the Bootstrap board.
This led to concerns among investors, resulting in a 10% drop in ZEC price.
Former developers launched the CashZ wallet, built on the Zashi codebase, facilitating user migration from the Zashi wallet.
