Zentry Partners with Ronin Network to Launch Ragnarok Landverse in Q1 2025

Zentry, a Web3 gaming company, has partnered with the Ronin Network to launch the Ragnarok Landverse on blockchain. This collaboration combines Ronin’s gaming blockchain infrastructure with Zentry’s metagame ecosystem, marking a significant advancement in Web3 gaming.

An announcement indicated that the game is scheduled for release in Q1 2025, with pre-registrations currently available.

The Legacy of Ragnarok

Ragnarok Online, launched in 2002 by South Korea's Gravity Co., Ltd, became a global gaming phenomenon known for immersive gameplay and community-driven quests. Zentry aims to reimagine this classic for blockchain, preserving its nostalgic elements while enabling players to earn, own, and trade digital assets.

Ragnarok Landverse will utilize Ronin Network to integrate blockchain features like non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital ownership, bridging traditional gaming with Web3. This approach offers players both nostalgic gameplay and innovative mechanics.

Jarindr Thitadilaka, CEO of Zentry, stated that the partnership aims to transition traditional gamers to blockchain. The goal is to onboard 50 million players into Web3 gaming through engaging experiences and meaningful asset ownership.

“Our partnership with Sky Mavis goes beyond launching Ragnarok Landverse on Ronin. Together, we’re paving the way for future Biggest gaming IPs to transition into Web3,” he explained.

Why Ronin Network?

The Ronin blockchain, developed by Sky Mavis, is a leading platform for blockchain gaming, known for Axie Infinity which recorded over $1 billion in NFT sales. It provides scalability and low transaction fees essential for gaming.

Currently, Ronin has 4.7 million monthly active users and 3 million daily transactions, making it an ideal platform for Ragnarok Landverse. Other titles like Pixels support Ronin's reputation as a hub for innovative Web3 games, ensuring a smooth transition for players familiar with blockchain technology.

Beyond Ragnarok: The Bigger Vision

Zentry's partnership with Ronin encompasses more than just Ragnarok Landverse. Zentry has become a node validator on Ronin and integrated Ronin into Nexus Season 1, enhancing their player portal. These efforts aim to create a cohesive gaming ecosystem connecting players, developers, and blockchain technology.

The soft launch of Ragnarok Landverse attracted 400,000 players and generated $15 million in NFT sales from in-game items, indicating strong potential ahead of its official launch on Ronin in early 2025.
