Ark Invest Files Multiple Bitcoin ETF Applications with SEC

Ark Invest, led by Cathie Wood, has submitted several new Bitcoin ETF applications to the U.S. SEC, including:

The ARK Bitcoin Yield ETF aims to generate income through Bitcoin-linked strategies by selling options to reduce volatility. The ARK DIET Bitcoin 1 ETF offers 50% downside protection and captures gains if Bitcoin rises over 5% in a quarter. The ARK DIET Bitcoin 2 ETF provides 10% downside protection and benefits when Bitcoin exceeds its quarterly starting value.

These funds will operate under the ARK ETF Trust, expanding Ark's crypto investment offerings. Ark Invest is notable for its early support of Bitcoin as a long-term asset. The firm already manages the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF, which holds over $5 billion in assets.

Amid market volatility, spot Bitcoin ETFs saw significant inflows, with $103 million on October 14, led by Fidelity’s ETF at $133 million. Ark's own ARKB attracted $6.8 million. Since early 2024, spot Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated $62.5 billion in net inflows, indicating continued interest from institutional and retail investors in cryptocurrencies as a long-term asset class.
