Bitcoin Drives $585 Million Inflows into Crypto ETPs in 2025
According to a CoinShares report by James Butterfill, crypto exchange-traded products (ETPs) saw inflows of $585 million in early January 2025. This follows a strong performance in 2024, with total inflows reaching $44 billion.
- Bitcoin ETPs dominated, capturing $38 billion, nearly 30% of all Assets Under Management (AUM).
- Ethereum ETPs received $4.8 billion, accounting for 26% of ETH AUM.
- Inflows into Ethereum ETPs were 2.4 times higher than in 2021 and 60 times more than in 2023.
- Solana ETPs had $69 million in inflows, representing 4% of its assets.
Spot ETF Approvals Impact
The 2024 inflows surpassed those in the 2021 bull market, which recorded over $10 billion in net inflows. The increase is attributed to the US Securities and Exchange Commission's approval of multiple spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024.
Galaxy Digital predicts that US spot ETPs will reach $250 billion in AUM in 2025. Analysts expect Bitcoin and Ethereum ETPs to maintain strong performance, bolstered by favorable regulatory changes.
