Bitwise Predicts 2025 Will Be the Year of Crypto IPOs

The crypto predictions for 2025 are emerging, with Bitwise forecasting a significant year for crypto IPOs. Their report outlines key factors supporting this prediction:

  • Regulatory engagement with firms.
  • Institutional interest and support.
  • Investor appetite.

However, securing approval for public offerings in the post-FTX environment is complex. For instance, Circle, a stablecoin issuer, filed a confidential draft of its registration statement with the SEC in January but has seen no progress on its IPO.

Typically, companies that file drafts publicly submit their S-1 within six to eight months; however, this timeline can vary. Circle remains a strong candidate for going public, according to Bitwise, which also mentioned Figure, Kraken, Anchorage, and Chainalysis as potential IPO contenders.

Additionally, two companies are seeking uplisting on US exchanges: Sol Strategies aims to uplist on Nasdaq, while Exodus targets NYSE American. One firm is pursuing a public listing through a de-SPAC process, indicating increasing activity in the crypto IPO space.

A rise in public crypto companies could enhance retail investor engagement and rebuild trust in the market. This development would also provide access to previously undisclosed metrics through SEC filings, potentially unlocking significant capital.
