Coinbase Teams Up with JPMorgan to Enable Credit Card Integration

US cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has partnered with JPMorgan Chase to provide integrated credit card services, account linking, and a transferable rewards program for over 80 million Chase customers.

  • Chase cardholders can make purchases on Coinbase starting fall 2025.
  • From 2026, they can convert Chase Ultimate Rewards points to USD Coin (USDC) via the Base L2 blockchain network.
  • This is the first instance of major credit card rewards directly redeemable for cryptocurrency.
  • Coinbase users will be able to link their Chase credit cards for seamless transactions.

Recent Partnerships

  • On July 29, Coinbase announced integration with Samsung Pay, allowing easier transactions without app switching.
  • Coinbase also partnered with PNC, enabling direct cryptocurrency trading and custody services.

These moves precede Coinbase's second quarter earnings call scheduled for July 31. Analysts predict higher year-over-year revenue but lower adjusted EBITDA for Q2 2025.
