Ethereum Foundation Initiates Holešky Shutdown Post-Fusaka Upgrade Completion

The Ethereum Foundation has begun the shutdown of Holešky, a testnet launched in 2023, following the Fusaka upgrade which introduced PeerDAS to enhance scalability. The shutdown comes after experiencing validator inactivity leaks and extended exit queues post-Pectra upgrade.

Ethereum price fell below $4,000, down 0.6%, while Bitcoin rose by 1.7% intraday.
Developers are transitioning projects to Hoodi and Sepolia testnets.
Hoodi addresses Holešky’s scalability issues and supports Pectra functionalities.
Future testing will focus on Sepolia for development, Hoodi for validator testing, and Ephemery for light simulations.
