Global Crypto Ownership Rises in 2025, U.K. Leads Growth

In 2025, consumer adoption of crypto increased significantly, with notable growth in the U.K. and several other countries, according to Gemini's '2025 Global State of Crypto' report.

President Trump's launch of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve boosted confidence, with 23% of U.S. non-owners citing increased trust in digital assets. The percentages in the U.K. and Singapore were 21% and 19%, respectively.

Memecoins influenced market entry; globally, 94% of memecoin holders also own other crypto assets. In the U.S., 31% of investors with both memecoins and traditional crypto started with memecoins, reflected by similar figures in Australia (30%), the U.K. (28%), and others.

Spot crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) gained popularity, with 39% of U.S. crypto investors holding ETFs, up from 37%. Italy leads at 47%, followed by the U.K. (41%), Singapore (40%), Australia (38%), and France (32%).

The survey included 7,205 consumers from the U.S., U.K., France, Italy, Australia, and Singapore conducted between March and April 2025.
