Jamie Dimon Reiterates Negative View on Bitcoin’s Value

JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon reiterated his negative stance on Bitcoin in a CBS News interview, stating:

  • Bitcoin has no intrinsic value.
  • It is associated with illegal activities such as sex trafficking and money laundering.
  • Dimon's views remain unchanged despite JPMorgan benefiting from Bitcoin's financial products, including participation in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF.

Additionally, JPMorgan rebranded its blockchain platform from Onyx to Kinexys, focusing on real-world asset tokenization. The bank plans to launch on-chain foreign exchange capabilities in the first quarter of 2025.

Dimon's comments come just before Donald Trump’s return to the presidency, which may lead to a more favorable regulatory environment for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
