Metaplanet Sets Up U.S., Japan Subsidiaries, Acquires Bitcoin.jp Domain

Metaplanet, Japan's largest bitcoin treasury company, has established two subsidiaries: one in Japan and one in the U.S.
The Japanese subsidiary, Bitcoin Japan Inc., will be based in Tokyo. It will manage bitcoin-linked media, conferences, and online platforms, including Bitcoin Magazine Japan.
The U.S. subsidiary, Metaplanet Income Corp., will operate from Miami, focusing on generating income through bitcoin-related financial products like derivatives.
Metaplanet aims to scale its bitcoin income generation business, which was launched in late 2024, through these new subsidiaries.
The company's recent acquisition increased its bitcoin holdings to over 20,000 BTC, ranking it as the sixth-largest bitcoin treasury globally.
The establishment of these subsidiaries follows plans to raise $1.4 billion through an international share sale to enhance its bitcoin reserves.
Despite these developments, Metaplanet's stock fell by 1.16% on Wednesday.
