MicroStrategy has purchased 6,556 BTC for $556 million, raising its total holdings to 538,200 BTC. The average purchase price was $84,800 per coin, bringing its total Bitcoin investment to nearly $35 billion. Funding for this acquisition came from a sale of 5.6 million shares.
As of Q1 2025, over 13,000 institutions and 814,000 retail accounts hold MicroStrategy stock ($MSTR), with an additional 55 million people indirectly exposed through ETFs and other investment vehicles. This indicates increasing interest in MicroStrategy as a Bitcoin proxy.
