Pixels Launches Guild Wars Season 2 Offering $4 Million in Rewards
Pixels, an Ethereum-based farming and social game on the Ronin network, has announced its second Guild Wars season, titled "Spore Sports." This competition features a prize pool of $4 million in #PIXEL tokens.
Three Months of Gameplay
The new competition will run for three months, from December 10, 2024, to March 4, 2025. Players will engage in mushroom farming, strategic sabotage, and leaderboard competitions for chances to win PIXEL tokens, Guild Runes, and exclusive in-game items. Rewards will be distributed weekly and at the season's end.
Luke Barwikowski, founder and CEO of Pixels, stated that the prize pool has expanded from $85,000 last year to $4 million to set a new industry standard. He emphasized the event's role in exploring possibilities in Web3 gaming and establishing a foundation for large-scale competitions beneficial to the ecosystem.
A significant addition in Season 2 is the introduction of tier-4 Ultimate Items, which are rare artifacts that can only be unlocked through specific in-game activities, enhancing strategy and competition.
Participation Requirements
Participation in Spore Sports is limited to guild members. Players must join a guild to compete, encouraging alliances prior to the event. This emphasis on collaboration aims to foster a vibrant community within the game.
Since migrating to the Ronin network in late 2023, Pixels has rapidly grown, attracting over 8 million players. The first Guild Wars season significantly contributed to this success, while the PIXEL token has demonstrated strong performance despite minor fluctuations recently. Pixels continues to innovate in blockchain gaming to engage players and build a sustainable ecosystem.
