Solana Co-Founder Raj Gokal’s Credentials Leaked in Instagram Hack
Sensitive data from Solana co-founder Raj Gokal was leaked via a compromised Instagram account of the hip-hop group Migos. The hackers posted at least seven images, including personal credentials like passports and driver’s licenses, to Gokal's 13 million followers.
- Hackers demanded 40 Bitcoin from Gokal.
- Leaked content included Gokal’s personal number and other sensitive information.
- The posts were visible for about 90 minutes before Meta removed them.
- The hackers altered Migos' Instagram bio to promote a meme coin.
Blockchain investigator ZachXBT noted that Gokal's accounts may have been compromised through social engineering, leading to an extortion attempt. Gokal had previously warned about ongoing hacking attempts on his accounts.
The leaked images resembled Know Your Customer (KYC) verification files, raising concerns about potential links to a recent Coinbase data breach, though no concrete evidence supports this connection.
