Solana and Ethereum Meme Coins Projected for Growth in 2025

The cryptocurrency market experienced significant growth in 2024, primarily driven by Solana's ecosystem of meme coins. Analysts anticipate this trend to persist through 2025, with these digital assets retaining strong trading volumes and investor interest.

Solana Meme Coins to Watch for 2025

In 2024, Solana meme coins gained attention with new launches such as Pudgy Penguins (PENGU), Fartcoin, and Gigachad, achieving yearly gains between 600% and 1800%. The standout performer was POPCAT, which saw over 6500% growth.

By mid-November 2024, POPCAT reached an all-time high of $2.10 but has since declined over 60%, currently trading at $0.77. A return to its peak may be challenging in the short term; however, reclaiming $1.00 as support could indicate potential for recovery. If the Solana meme coin narrative strengthens, it could push POPCAT towards a new all-time high.

Lennix Lai, CCO at OKX Global, noted:

“The token ecosystem narrative goes deeper than pure numbers, though they’re certainly telling – Solana continues to see over 250,000 new tokens weekly... Solana’s extra low costs, near-instant finality, and strong creator culture drove 2024’s massive meme token wave, transforming these technical advantages into a thriving ecosystem with unique social dynamics and community-driven momentum.”

Ethereum Meme Coins to Watch in 2025

Ethereum remains the primary platform for meme coins, hosting leaders like Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB). One notable Ethereum meme coin in 2024 was SPX6900 (SPX), which increased by 9,362% since January 2024.

SPX attracted meme coin enthusiasts, becoming one of the top 15 meme coins globally with a market cap of $748 million. Currently priced at $0.75, SPX faces resistance at $0.91 and requires a 50% gain to reach its all-time high of $1.19. Its critical support level is $0.56.

Ethereum is expected to maintain dominance in the meme coin space due to its established reputation. However, Solana's significantly lower costs may increase competition.
