Trump Advisor Raises $300 Million for Bitcoin Investment Firm Nakamoto
David Bailey, CEO of BTC Inc. and crypto advisor to Donald Trump, has raised $300 million to establish a bitcoin-focused investment company named Nakamoto. The funding comprises $200 million in equity and $100 million in convertible debt, though the deal remains unannounced.
Nakamoto aims for a public listing via a merger with a Nasdaq-listed firm, expected to be revealed soon, with a target for summer.
The company will focus on:
- Buying and holding bitcoin
- Investing globally, including in Brazil, Thailand, and South Africa
An advisory board with notable crypto figures will support the venture. This model parallels Michael Saylor’s MicroStrategy, which has become a major bitcoin holder by converting cash reserves into the cryptocurrency since 2020. Jack Mallers’ firm, Twenty One, also raised significant funds for bitcoin investments.
Mallers noted this approach merges "blue-chip credibility" with "startup upside," reflecting growing market interest in bitcoin through public investment vehicles.
