Coinbase Plans Bitcoin Cashback Credit Card with Amex This Fall
Coinbase plans to launch a credit card, the Coinbase One Card, in partnership with American Express, featuring bitcoin cashback.
- The card offers 4% BTC cashback on purchases
- Enhanced rewards for USDC stablecoin holdings
- Increased staking rewards and transaction credits on Base, an Ethereum layer-2 network
- Expected rollout this fall
This initiative aligns with a trend among crypto platforms introducing payment cards for everyday purchases. MetaMask and Mastercard are also launching similar products.
Coinbase's announcement coincided with its State of Crypto Summit in New York, where it indicated plans to expand perpetual futures trading in the U.S., currently limited to non-U.S. users.
Coinbase is collaborating with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to potentially offer perpetual-style futures contracts to U.S. users.
