Crypto Losses Rise to $357 Million from 18 Hacks in April
In April 2025, the amount of crypto assets stolen by hackers surged nearly 11 times compared to March, reaching approximately $357.11 million across 18 major hacks.
- Top hack involved an unauthorized Bitcoin transaction resulting in a loss of $330.7 million.
- KiloEx decentralized exchange lost $7.5 million; $6.1 million was recovered with Binance's assistance.
- ZKsync exploit resulted in a loss of $5.4 million, with some funds also recovered.
- Loopscale lost $5.8 million on April 26; 90% of funds were returned after negotiations with the hacker.
- MophoLabs experienced a $2.6 million exploit.
Previous losses include $87.25 million in January, $1.51 billion in February, and $33.46 million in March.
Notably, Bybit faced the largest hack in February, losing $1.4 billion worth of Ethereum to the Lazarus Group, with no updates on fund recovery.
