Raoul Pal, former hedge fund manager and co-founder of Real Vision, provided an update on his crypto portfolio, emphasizing a concentrated investment strategy that includes Dogecoin. Raoul Pal's Focus on Dogecoin
Pal stated, “I have concentrated bets... Outside of this I just scrape profits to buy NFTs for the long haul.” He highlighted Dogecoin's performance, noting it has outperformed Bitcoin by 500% since 2013, partly due to its connection with Elon Musk.
Musk has hinted at integrating Dogecoin into the payments feature of X, although no official confirmation exists. Speculation increased following Musk's tweet showcasing a new dollar icon on a user's profile, suggesting potential integration into X Payments. Musk's previous intentions to use Dogecoin for premium services also contribute to ongoing optimism within the Dogecoin community.
In response to a user discussing Dogecoin's future, Pal remarked, “Just the start,” indicating confidence in the impact of the Department of Governance Efficiency (DOGE) under Musk's leadership.
Regarding his investment in DeepBook Protocol (DEEP), Pal explained that its value is tied to increasing volumes from Sui, making it a low market cap opportunity linked to scalable blockchain solutions.
Pal elaborated on his broader investment philosophy in an interview with Mario Nawfal, discussing the cyclical nature of liquidity injection into markets driven by governmental debt refinancing every four years. He described seasonal trends in the crypto market, noting that Bitcoin typically leads in the spring and summer, followed by an altcoin season.
Pal suggested current conditions may lead to an “explosive” period in the upcoming cycle, dependent on government liquidity dynamics. He expressed skepticism about a potential “super cycle” for Bitcoin unless there are fundamental changes in global economic structures, including debt and demographics. “I don’t see how that happens, unless they break this everything code cycle of liquidity,” he stated.
At press time, DOGE traded at $0.39447.
