Aviva Investors issues tokenized liquidity fund class on XRP Ledger

min

Aviva Investors has launched a tokenized share class of its US Dollar Liquidity Fund on the XRP Ledger in collaboration with Ripple, with the structure approved by the Central Bank of Ireland, according to Ledger Insights and Structured Retail Products. This operational launch follows the firms’ February 11, 2026 partnership announcement and marks Aviva Investors’ first fund tokenization initiative and one of Ripple’s first European asset manager collaborations. XRP rose 1.3% in the past 24 hours to $1.02 on $1.26 billion in volume, trading just above an 18-month support level at $1.

XRP tokenization structure and mechanics

The tokenized share class sits within Aviva Investors’ existing UCITS US Dollar Liquidity Fund, whose other classes hold about $1.23 billion in assets under management. The token operates as a digital twin: on-chain tokens mirror the conventional book-entry register, with daily reconciliation. Tokens are restricted to eligible investors with digital wallets and are not freely transferable.

Komainu serves as the regulated institutional custodian for the tokenized layer. Bank of New York Mellon remains custodian for the underlying fund assets. Licuido provides tokenization infrastructure. The portfolio continues to hold short-term, high-grade USD debt. XRP is not held by the fund; XRPL provides issuance and recordkeeping. The Central Bank of Ireland approved the structure, as detailed in Coinspeaker’s coverage of the CBI approval.

Context from the February partnership

Aviva Investors and Ripple announced a multi-year tokenized-funds initiative on February 11, 2026. Aviva’s Chief Distribution Officer Jill Barber cited potential time and cost efficiencies and client benefits. Ripple’s VP of Trading and Markets Nigel Khakoo said tokenization is moving to large-scale production and highlighted XRPL’s compliance tools, near-instant settlement, and native liquidity. Ripple cited more than 4 billion transactions since 2012 across over 7 million active wallets, secured by 120 independent validators.

The Aviva launch extends XRPL’s use as a regulated issuance and settlement layer rather than a vehicle for XRP price exposure. Ripple supports infrastructure providers such as ZILO and Licuido to develop custody, transfer-agency, and trading tools, as covered in Coinspeaker’s overview of XRPL’s tokenization stack. Reported tokenized real-world assets on XRPL have surpassed $3 billion. Aviva’s non-transferable, daily-reconciled design indicates a conservative initial model focused on regulatory clarity and operational control, with broader transferability and collateral mobility possible in later iterations once a track record is established.

Market technicals: XRP recently rejected the $1.06 resistance and set a new 2026 low, with August seasonally weak. A sweep below $1.00 would test the 18-month support.
