Polygon activates Giugliano hardfork on mainnet, targeting faster finality.

The upgrade went live at block 85,268,500 on April 8 (~2 PM UTC), aiming to reduce confirmation time by letting producers announce blocks earlier Polygon Foundation on X.

Testing on Amoy showed a 2-second drop in finality. The Amoy rollout hit block 35,573,500 on March 23 without incident Foundation post PIP-84.

What changed in Giugliano PIP-84:
- Producers broadcast blocks earlier, compressing the confirmation window.
- Fee parameters move into block headers, cutting extra RPC lookups.
- New RPC endpoints expose fee data to wallets and apps.

PIP-85 activated slightly earlier at block 85,245,000. Delegators start receiving direct priority fee income; 37% routes to stakers via Ethereum dev update.

Node operators must upgrade to Bor v2.7.0 or Erigon v3.5.0 before activation to stay in sync PIP-84.

Giugliano also reintroduces and corrects changes first attempted in PIP-66, refined after prior issues, then re-shipped here following Amoy validation PIP-84.
