It operates using a hybrid model where governance-approved enshrined custodians mint and redeem frxUSD backed by cash-equivalent reserves, while advanced onchain mechanisms developed by the Frax Finance Protocol ensure stability, security, and seamless usability across DeFi and traditional financial systems.
