Binance launches 24/7 USD/BRL FX perpetuals with 100x leverage September 21
Binance Futures is introducing 24/7 foreign exchange perpetual contracts, starting with USD against the Brazilian real quoted in USDT. Trading for the USDBRLUSDT contract begins September 21 at 14:00 UTC with leverage up to 100x.
Launch Details
- Product: USDBRLUSDT perpetual contract
- Start: September 21, 14:00 UTC
- Leverage: up to 100x
- Scope: limited to USD/BRL at launch; EUR/USD, GBP/USD and USD/JPY were not announced
FX Without The Weekend
Traditional FX markets follow conventional trading hours. Crypto markets operate continuously. Binance will run synthetic FX pricing around the clock using derivatives pricing and external reference feeds. This aligns FX perps with continuous crypto trading.
Risks
- Weekend price drift: synthetic FX prices can diverge from Monday reopen levels during political, economic or central-bank events
- Leverage exposure: at 100x, small price differences produce large account impacts
Crypto–TradFi Convergence
Crypto exchanges increasingly list non-crypto exposures: tokenized stocks, gold, commodities, prediction markets and FX derivatives. This expands infrastructure built for digital assets into broader global trading. Binance’s initial FX contract remains narrow.
