Bitwise Launches Bitcoin ETF Tracking Companies Holding Over 1,000 BTC
Bitwise Invest has launched the Bitwise Bitcoin Standard Corporations ETF (OWNB), which tracks companies holding at least 1,000 bitcoin (BTC).
The index has specific rules:
- Companies must hold a minimum of 1,000 BTC.
- Holdings are weighted by the amount of bitcoin owned.
- The largest holding is capped at 20%.
- Companies with less than 33% of assets in bitcoin are weighted at 1.5%.
- The index rebalances quarterly.
As of the end of 2024, publicly traded companies held a total of 591,817 BTC. The ETF will trade on NYSE Arca and has an expense ratio of 0.85%. Bitwise has identified 70 public companies that currently hold bitcoin.
The top three holdings in the ETF are:
- Strategy (20.87%)
- MARA Holdings (12.12%)
- CleanSpark (6.26%)
