Former Hack VC partner alleges blacklisting threats and forced work
Hsin-Ju, a former partner at Hack VC, has come forward as a whistleblower against Hack VC.
Of course, you need to hear both sides in cases like this, but if the claims are true, it may be very hard for Hack VC to operate in the industry going forward.
According to Hsin-Ju, even while suffering last year from Graves’ disease, hyperthyroidism, and severe insomnia, she was pressured to continue working on Hack Summit and side events during KBW. She says she worked about 13–14 hours a day, six days a week, and even though she asked multiple times to resign, she was threatened that if she quit midstream, she would be blacklisted in the industry. She says this went on for about a month, her condition worsened, and she ultimately attempted suicide.
I also have a lot to say about Hack VC, but adding my personal opinion here would be too biased, so I won’t.
