LG Electronics tests blockchain ad verification with Arbitrum in Japan
**LG Pilots Onchain Ad Network on Arbitrum**
LG Electronics’ Blockchain Research Lab is testing an onchain advertising verification system on Arbitrum. The goal — log ad delivery and performance data so it can be independently verified by market participants.
The pilot ran in Japan with marketing firm Hakuhodo. Performance results are still under review, so no fraud reduction or engagement stats have been published.
Instead of replacing existing DSP/SSP infrastructure, the system adds a blockchain-based layer for settlement and performance transparency. LG says this approach could improve trust in workflows while protecting consumer privacy.
Offchain Labs CTO Harry Kalodner notes large firms want public infrastructure benefits without losing control of their own systems — positioning Arbitrum as enterprise tech, not a consumer crypto product.
With global ad spending projected at $1.3 trillion by 2026 (source), even modest improvements in verification could have significant impact. This is live infrastructure testing, not yet a commercial rollout.
