Researchers publish near-complete Hyperliquid validator client analysis
Since Shaw said his next target is Hyperliquid, let’s talk about it: attempts to reverse engineer Hyperliquid’s validator node client have been going on for quite a long time.
Among them, the most active effort with meaningful results has been by a team led by former HypurrFi founder androolloyd, who have been reversing since April this year for almost half a year. It looks almost complete, and they seem to be catching up while verifying blocks. But reportedly, the Hyperliquid team updates the code so frequently that it’s hard to keep up with the latest node purely through reverse engineering on an ongoing basis.
In any case, various teams have tried reversing Hyperliquid. It’s realistically feasible and now at a near-complete stage, but so far no significant attack from adversaries has succeeded—that seems to be the current situation. Hyperliquid, guarded by the world’s best white hats.
The androolloyd team doing the reverse engineering has posted research docs. If you’re curious, have a read.
