Sapien Foundation to Launch Token Generation Event on August 20
Sapien Foundation will conduct its first token generation event (TGE) for the SAPIEN token on August 20, on Coinbase's layer-2 blockchain, Base. The tokens will support the decentralized data foundry that connects demand for quality data with human experts.
The protocol addresses data origin and trust issues for AI models using a Proof of Quality system, which includes:
- Staking
- Validation
- Reputation
- Incentives
The TGE will launch 25% of the total supply of 1 billion tokens. Key allocations include:
- 5% for early contributors based on confirmed points
- 0.5% for the top 10,000 members of CookieDAO, with 30% unlocked at TGE
- Bonus allocations for Sapien Squad and Discord role holders
Recent developments include over 30 enterprise clients and a partnership with Coinbase’s Embedded Wallets feature. Post-TGE, partnerships with Billions and Intuition will be formalized.
The management team features CEO Rowan Stone, co-creator of Base, and Trevor Koverko, founder of Polymath. The project raised $10.5 million in a seed round from investors such as Variant, Primitive Ventures, Yield Guild Games, and Orange DAO.
