SK hynix hackathon names Top 200 finalists
As a side project, I decided to test my skills a bit (and maybe pick up a certification) by casually entering the SK hynix hackathon, since I usually only talk about AI. Luckily, I made it through the first and second prelims and into the Top 200 for the finals.
I can’t share the exact problems, but it felt like the exam focused more on system architecture, ontology design, and CS fundamentals than on simple prompt clicking. I haven’t gone through the usual job-hunting process, but I get the sense that companies might start using formats like this as a substitute for coding tests...
In particular, I’ve archived a lot of useful resources shared by folks in the crypto/AI Telegram groups, and preparing for the second prelim by organizing a repo based on those materials plus insights from our in-house AI heavy hitters seems to have paid off. (The second round allowed public repos and skills.)
I hear the finals come with prize money and a pitching opportunity. I’m going to run it relaxed, with the mindset of learning a lot from the strong field out there. 😚
