StableSea Emerges from Stealth with $3.5 Million Funding Round
StableSea, a new project founded by ex-Block employees, focuses on global stablecoin offramping, converting stablecoins to local fiat for payment processors, banks, and neobanks.
The firm raised $3.5 million in a funding round led by Kindred Ventures, with contributions from DFS Lab and Ludlow Ventures. StableSea launched in January 2025.
CEO Tanner Taddeo stated the goal is to address inefficiencies in correspondent banking systems, highlighting that stablecoins expedite and reduce costs in money transfers between institutions.
StableSea plans to use the funds for growth and may consider another fundraising round later this year or early next year, but they are currently funded for several years.
